![]() It significantly increases the functionality of your trackpad and Magic Mouse.Īpple’s MacBook comes with an intuitive touchpad, that makes it possible to use several fingers, like you do on a smartphone - this is also true for their Magic TrackPad and Magic Mouse products. Breaking out the dev tools the link quality, mostly 100% with some drop-outs here and there, and RSSI don't seem too affected by the pad so I guess the thing just uses a lot of battery? edit to add: I know of the BT keyboard conundrum some are reporting but I use a wired aluminum kb so this isn't an issue for me.Download MagicPrefs for Mac for free. That seems a bit excessive but I use an aluminum mouse pad which I thought might be weakening the signal and causing a subsequent increase in drain. Mine seems to drop 3-4% a day at this point. One question I have appears to be battery life. Overall I love it with the occasional hiccup where an input goes awry but as I get used to it those appear to be less frequent. I have never used anything that feels as good on the desktop and horizontal scrolling is a dream too. Considering this a mouse driver, not something like a web browser you might spend hours using, functionality wins out here.As far as the mouse itself the scrolling reminds me of the iPhone and I love it. The live touch window is less attractive but more powerful, which pretty much sums up the difference between the two apps. BTT is more powerful but has a bit of a disjointed GUI IMHO. I like the fact it is also a native pref pane and the live touch windows looks nice to see what your fingers are really doing according to the mouse. A couple of observations: I like MagicPrefs' interface better and it seems to get more things in one window in a more sensical way. ![]() This allowed me to set the speed more to my liking. I decided to try the mouse w/o any 3rd party enhancements for a while but this lasted all of about 20 minutes I installed MagicPrefs which made a big difference but even its speed boost wasn't quite what I wanted so as others suggested I downloaded BTT for a spin. I wandered into my local Apple Store and they had some magics in stock so I bought one. In the Predefined Actions menu it has "Application Switcher". The recipient bought one in store a few days ago.quote:Originally posted by Sulis:BTW, does anyone know how to add Application Switch (CMD-Tab) to BTT? Trying to add it just opens App Switch. Are they that popular? Are they being replaced by the new tablet/trackpad super secret project? Now that I am interested in playing with one of them I can't get one According to some articles a few days ago it's their best selling mouse, plus (or because) it was probably a decent Christmas item.I couldn't find one myself so I ended up just buying a gift card in the exact amount. Quote:Originally posted by HydraMac:Why are these Magic Meeses so hard to get? Amazon is outta stock and even Apple is showing a 7-10 lead time for ordering one the last couple weeks. Can't figure out swipes and etc to move from one space to another.- configured track speed- can't figure out touch sensitivity yet - one finger middle axis click works perfectly- one finger tap tail as an Expose shortcut works somewhat- your thumb finger resting on the edge of the mouse causes problems- A firefox specific back-key shortcut would be nice- it still crashes when confused- Real-time graphical display is now available. Still having problems but simple clicks and taps are working much better right now with the version released last night. Sadly MagicPref is pretty flaky, but as I can understand they're fixing the problems day by day. I saw this thread and the other day a colleague brought me a Magic Mouse No SL = No BTT.
