See our full review for more info on that. Lightroom Classic, on the other hand, has a pretty steep learning curve. The advanced tools are also pretty easy to access, with easy-to-understand names that describe the end result. The basic Presets are self-explanatory, as are the 3 workspaces: Catalog, Presets and Edit. The catalog loads automatically – no need to import or choose destination folders. Luminar is exceptionally easy to use and needs next to no instruction to get started. (The cloud-based version of Lightroom (formerly known as Lightroom CC) is actually more similar to Luminar Neo, but doesn’t have as many features as Lightroom Classic, so I’ll be comparing Neo with Classic in this article.) The difference in the user interface is one of the most notable differences between Luminar Neo and Lightroom Classic – at least for beginners. Luminar Neo’s user interface is exceptionally easy to use. Let’s dive deep and take an in-depth look at Lightroom vs Luminar and how they perform in various areas. I’ll be examing the latest version of Luminar Neo and Adobe Lightroom Classic. Which you should choose really depends on your experience, your workflow, what level of photo editing you’re looking for, and what you intend to do with the images. Now there are a number of alternatives to Lightroom, including Sklyum’s award-winning Luminar Neo editing app. Luminar can also be bought outright (a one-time purchase), while Lightroom can only be used as part of a subscription to an Adobe Photography Plan.Īdobe Lightroom has long been the industry standard photo editing software, but once Adobe moved to a subscription platform, many photographers began looking for alternatives. Luminar also features a much easier-to-use interface than Lightroom, with one-click artificial intelligence that helps perform complex edits in seconds. The main difference between Luminar and Lightroom is that Luminar has a faster editing process than Lightroom. ![]() ![]() Luminar Neo vs Lightroom – Which is Better in 2023? ![]() Having had a multi-cat household in the past, I’m also aware of how important it can be to be able or control what each cat eats. Monitoring his food intake is going to become even more important as he gets older and starts to suffer from conditions like kidney disease. From the knowledge perspective, changes in food intake are an early indicator of illness, so if I see that Bertie is eating less then I know that I should check him over in case he has an injury or an infection. With my own cat, Bertie, it gives me great peace of mind to get alerts during the day so that I know that he is coming home at regular times to eat, even when I’m out at work or away. For me, the three advantages of this product are peace of mind, knowledge and control. Jon Bowen, Royal Veterinary College vet and animal behaviourist said of the product: “Although I’m a vet, I still have the same concerns as any other pet owner. We’ve already had positive feedback from customers using the product, featured in the case studies on our website: Highlights include cats that have lost weight since using the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect, a cat on an expensive, specialist diet that now has exclusive access to her food and owners that have peace of mind now that they can monitor their pets’ feeding. There are also extra training tips in the manual that help the owner to introduce cautious pets to the feeder. The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect has a four-stage training mode that closes the lid by varying degrees to allow the pet to get used to the movement gradually. Sure Petcare recognises that cats in particular can be wary of new products, especially if they’re expected to suddenly start using them every day. ![]() It’s easy to clean, with a removable mat, bowl, bowl supports, lid and cleaning access cover on the underside of the feeder. Once set up, it works in the background without fuss or drama. The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect has been designed with ease of use in mind, making it accessible to all. According to the PDSA, 60% of cats are considered to be overweight or obese, so the potential market impact for the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect is huge. There are 10.9 million cats in the UK and 50% of the adult population own a cat. Many pet owners using standard food bowls for their pet don’t weigh their pet’s food, putting their pet at risk of obesity and weight-related illnesses. On first use, the owner sets the portion weight within the app, and then each time the bowl is filled, LEDs on the front of the feeder light up and then flash when the correct weight has been reached. ![]() The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect has integrated weighing scales. Up to ten Sure Petcare Connect products can be linked to one app, making it easy for pet owners to monitor their pets’ behaviour all in one place. Spotting these changes early could be key to treating a potential health issue as soon as it occurs. This data is stored in easy to read graphs within the app so that the owner can start to learn their pet’s normal eating behaviour, helping them to spot changes which could be an indication of illness or distress. It can even monitor wet and dry food independently. The product links to the Sure Petcare app via a Hub to give owners real-time updates when their pet eats from the feeder and how much they eat at each sitting. Following on from the success of the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, which launched in 2014, the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect gives cat and dog owners the ability to stop pets stealing each other’s food, monitor their pet’s food intake and accurately weigh their pet’s food with ease. The King’s X track, “Junior’s Gone Wild” ( previously reviewed in our mega King’s X series) has never been one of their better tunes, but as a non-album rarity, a nice one to have. ![]() The CD single is rounded out by two more songs from the Bill & Ted soundtrack, by Slaughter and King’s X. The same guy whose band got booed in Toronto thanks to Kiss. In an ironic twist, the version of “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” that is in the movie has a guitar intro solo by Steve Vai. ![]() The single edit cuts out too much of the grand, pompous arrangement, including the epic opening. There are three released versions of “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II”: The single edit (3:57), the soundtrack version (5:23) and the final 1992 version that was later released on the next Kiss album (5:19). And Eric Singer was the right guy to continue. It’s appropriate that Eric Carr went out on a good Kiss track. Yes, they can sing! Yes, they can play! This lineup could do it particularly well. Secondly, “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” was the first Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons (with Bob Ezrin and Russ Ballard) co-writing credit since 1985, and their first shared vocals in ages upon ages.Īlthough it didn’t make waves in 1991, “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” has become enough of a favourite to make it onto 2015’s Kiss 40 compilation, and continue to be played live. It indicated that Kiss meant business this time. A Kiss-Ezrin reunion was very big news for fans. Ezrin was responsible for the two albums that some consider Kiss’ best, and Kiss’ worst. First, and very significantly, it was produced by Bob Ezrin. “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” was important for two more reasons. Eric Singer wasn’t credited on the single, or the final soundtrack for Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. The song wouldn’t be the same without Carr, as he can be heard sweetly harmonising with Paul Stanley. His vocals on “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” were his last. Eric Carr may not have been well enough to play drums, but that didn’t stop him from singing. It started with “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II”, a re-imagining of an old Argent song for the Bill & Ted movie. If anything positive came from Eric Carr’s death, it was that Kiss were going to put all that anger and frustration back into the music. ![]() Carr’s death was barely mentioned in the news, including Rolling Stone magazine who missed it completely, prompting a harsh reply from Kiss: On the same date, Freddie Mercury of Queen succumbed to AIDS. Although everybody hoped Eric would make a full recovery, he passed away from a brain haemorrhage on November 24, 1991. He was afraid he was going to be replaced, permanently, and his relationship with the band was strained. Unfortunately a rift was developing, with Eric Carr feeling shunned and excluded from Kiss. He gave his all, and did a full day’s shoot, with excellent (pun intended) results. Eric Carr, in a wig, was able to play for the music video taping. Eric Singer, who had performed so well on Paul Stanley’s solo tour, filled in on drums. Having little choice, Kiss recorded without him. Carr underwent surgery in April, with chemotherapy following. Simultaneously, Kiss received an offer to record a song for the sequel to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Flu-like symptoms turned out to be heart cancer. It was to be another album, another tour, but suddenly real life interfered.Įric Carr hadn’t been feeling well. When the tour wrapped up in November, Kiss took a few months off before gearing up again in the new year. Vai once even walked onstage to the sound of people chanting “Yngwie! Yngwie! Yngwie!”, but he had never been booed until the incident with Kiss in Toronto. Steve Vai later stated that it was the first time he had ever been booed. When Whitesnake hit the stage, it was to a chorus of boos. Paul Stanley used his stage raps to complain that Whitesnake wouldn’t let them use their full setup, including a giant sphinx. Kiss were third on a four-band bill, with David Coverdale, Steve Vai and company in the headlining slot. The tour was unfortunately highlighted by the Jdate in Toronto, igniting a feud with Whitesnake. Kiss’ Hot in the Shade tour wasn’t a sellout, but it was well received by fans who appreciated that a bunch of older songs were back in the set. – “God Gave Rock & Roll to You II” (1991 Interscope single) The vendor is known for its Data Recovery Wizard for Windows and Mac, and data recovery for iOS and Android devices. Accusative: for direct objects and after some prepositions (including für and ohne). The other German cases also have general rules about when they're used: Here are some examples-the article shows the noun's gender and that it's in the nominative case: German This is the case used for the subject of a sentence. When you first start learning German on Duolingo, you'll see a lot of nouns of all three genders (masculine, neuter, feminine) in the nominative case. (We'll save adjectives for another post.) That'll include articles (words like "the" and "a"), possessive pronouns (words like "my," "your," and "his"), and adjectives (words like "big" and "difficult") that go with the noun. We use noun cases a little bit in English, in our pronouns: We say "he" for the subject of a sentence (" He goes to the store"), "him" for the object of a sentence ("Did you see him at the store?"), and "his" to show possession (" His car is in the parking lot").īut in German, case matters for all nouns, although the nouns themselves aren't what change forms-instead, words that go with a noun will change depending on gender and case. The key to German declensions is remembering the grammatical gender + case of the noun. Declension of "our," "your" (plural), and "their".Declension of "your" (formal + singular).Declension of "my" and "your" (informal + singular).Use these links to jump directly to each section: If you're further along in your German learning, read the rest of this post for more information about German noun cases and possessive pronouns-those words Cue-less mentioned, like ihr (her) and dein (your). Save this page for later-in the meantime, you're dismissed. If you're an early learner just starting out in German, that might be all you need for now! In Duolingo's German course, we introduce learners to these cases slowly and strategically-first you get lots of practice with grammatical gender and the nominative case, then we introduce the accusative case for masculine and feminine nouns, then for neuter, then the next case, etc. Genitive: Typically the genitive ending is -es for masculine and neuter nouns and -er for feminine and plural nouns.Dative: Typically the dative ending is -em for masculine and neuter nouns and -er for feminine.Accusative: Only masculine nouns will change in the accusative.Nominative: Memorize these forms-they'll serve you well for remembering the noun's gender and to learn the other declension patterns!.I'll get to what all these cases mean in the next section, but first, rest assured that there are some basic tips for learning German declensions! Commit this list to memory: So, in dein Hund (your dog), dein tells us that Hund is masculine and nominative-and dein will change if Hund is accusative (or dative, or genitive). You'll also hear "noun cases" called "declensions." German has four noun cases: nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive. The second thing to know is that German nouns have different noun cases, and words related to the noun will change forms depending on the noun's job in the sentence (its case). You can review all the German grammatical gender patterns in my first Dear Duolingo post! The first thing to know is that German nouns all have grammatical gender, and words related to the noun will have to match the gender of the noun-so we'll say dein Hund for "your dog" (because Hund is masculine), but deine Katze for "your cat" (because Katze is feminine). So you're not alone in wondering what the rules are, Cue-less! Thankfully, there are rules about which version to use and even some helpful patterns to look for. Other learners have written to us with the very same question-German has a lot of these words with many forms, depending on what the word is doing in a sentence. ![]() (And actually, there are a lot of words like them!) Is there a specific time when I should use one over the other, or are they interchangeable? I’m learning German, but I still haven’t figured out the cues for whether I should use ihr/ihre/ihren (her) or dein/deine/deinen (your) in a sentence. Let's take a look! Our question this week: Kristina Schoen, and I'm back this week with another Dear Duolingo post all about German!
